Roll Over | Sunday Sonnet

I perform as part of a,
Machine that never quits;
Inside, we’re all digging our grave,
Whilst learning lots of tricks.

Roll over; stand up straight you fool;
Sit still a minute please.
I find myself without the tools,
To get down on my knees.

I ponder: once upon a time,
When I respected rules;
Did I then live a happy life?
Did I learn much in school?

I do believe in us and we,
But yet I’m drifting out to sea.
