Sunday Sonnet: The spiders

Eyes of red and auburn hair;
Lights are on but no one’s home;
Stretch me ’till you break my bones.
Beat me ’till my heads not there.

Watch the trees, the blue seeps through;
Through wisdom and darkness and night.
Don’t turn your face; don’t turn out the light.
Don’t have an answer; don’t have a clue.

Black and white; black and blue;
Eat me like the spiders do.
